Village Green

There is a Village Green in the village of Lees within the Parish of Dalbury Lees. It is a triangle of land at the junction of three roads - to Radbourne, Dalbury and Long Lane. At one corner of the Green is the Black Cow public house.

Also on the Village Green near to the public house is a post box (still in use) and a now disused red telephone box. The telephone box is owned by the Parish Council.

The Village Green itself is owned by South Derbyshire District Council and the grass is cut by them a number of times during the growing season - normally between April and October. In the recent past the Parish Council has paid for intermediate cuts and grass collection.

The Parish Council also commissions repairs as required to the posts and chain around the Village Green.
